Delete your account

WordTogether · com.derbzz.wordtogether · Last updated 8 September 2026

This page explains how to delete your WordTogether account, exactly what is deleted, what is kept, and how long it takes. An account is optional in WordTogether — if you have never created one, there is nothing here to delete.

Delete it from inside the app

  1. Open WordTogether.
  2. Go to Settings (the cog on the home screen).
  3. Tap Account.
  4. Tap Delete account, then confirm with Delete account permanently.

The deletion happens on our server straight away, and it cannot be undone. There is no waiting period and no way to recover the account afterwards.

Delete it by email

If you no longer have the app installed, email support@wordtogethergame.com from the address you signed up with, and ask us to delete your account. We will action it within 30 days.

What is deleted

Nothing tied to the account is kept. We do not retain an anonymised or partial record of a deleted account.

What is not deleted

The save on your phone. Deleting the account deletes only the account — the game in progress on the device is left alone, and the app carries on as guest play. To remove that local copy, delete the app from your phone.

WordTogether has no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking SDKs, so there is no separate usage history to delete.

How long it takes

Deletion from our live systems is immediate when you delete from inside the app, and within 30 days when you ask by email. A copy can survive in our host's routine encrypted backups for a short while after that; those backups are rotated, and a deleted account is gone from them within 30 days of the deletion. Backups are never used to restore a deleted account.
