Terms of Use
WordTogether · Last updated 15 September 2026
WordTogether is a free word game for Android, supported by ads. These terms are the agreement between you and Parody Gaming Studio for using it. They are meant to be readable; nothing here is hidden in a footnote.
Agreeing to these terms
By installing or playing WordTogether you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the game — and if you have already installed it, deleting the app ends the agreement.
Who can use WordTogether
WordTogether is not directed at children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to use it. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the game only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf. This matches the privacy policy, which explains what happens if we learn a child under 13 has created an account.
Your licence to use the game
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play WordTogether on devices you control, for your own non-commercial use. That licence is all you get: the game, its code, its artwork, its name and its level data stay ours.
You may not copy, sell, rent, sub-licence or redistribute the app, or reverse-engineer, decompile or modify it, except to the extent the law expressly allows regardless of what an agreement says.
Your account
An account is optional. The entire game works without one, offline. An account exists only so your progress survives losing or changing your phone.
If you create one, you are responsible for keeping access to it secure, and for what happens under it. Tell us at support@wordtogethergame.com if you think someone else is using your account.
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app, or by email. The delete your account page explains exactly what is removed and when. We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms, or to attack or abuse the service; where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why first.
Tokens and hints
Tokens are an in-game score. You earn them by banking shorter words, and you spend them on hints. This is worth being explicit about:
- Tokens cannot be bought. WordTogether has no in-app purchases and takes no payment of any kind.
- Tokens have no monetary value, are not a currency, and are not your property. They cannot be exchanged for money, goods or anything outside the game.
- Tokens cannot be transferred between accounts or devices, except as part of the progress an account restores.
- Tokens and progress can be lost — by deleting the app without an account, by deleting your account, or through a bug. We are not obliged to restore them, though we will usually try if you ask.
Ads
The game is free because it shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. Ad content comes from Google and its advertisers, not from us: we do not choose, endorse or vet individual ads, and we are not responsible for what an ad says or where it leads. The privacy policy explains what data advertising involves and how to limit ad personalisation.
What you may not do
- Interfere with the operation of the game, or with other people using it.
- Attempt to gain access to accounts, servers or data that are not yours.
- Use automated tools, modified clients or exploits to manipulate progress, tokens or streaks.
- Strip out, block or tamper with the advertising the game is funded by.
- Use the game for anything unlawful.
The word list and other people’s work
Accepted words come from ENABLE, a public-domain English word list, ranked using Peter Norvig’s public-domain word-frequency data. Level descriptions are derived from WordNet 3.1, Princeton University. These sources are used under their own terms and remain the work of their authors.
ENABLE is a complete English word list, so it contains some words that are offensive. The game deliberately suppresses those from ever being displayed to you, but a complete list is what makes a word game fair, and we do not claim the underlying list is inoffensive.
Availability and changes to the game
We may change, update or withdraw WordTogether, or any part of it, at any time. Levels, difficulty, token amounts and features can all change. Online features — account sign-in and progress sync — depend on services we do not control and may be unavailable at times. Offline play does not depend on them.
No warranty
WordTogether is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that progress will never be lost. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties to be excluded; where that is the case, this section applies only as far as the law permits, and your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost progress, lost tokens or lost data, arising from your use of WordTogether.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Because the game is free and we take no payment from you, any liability that does arise is limited to the greatest extent permitted where you live.
Ending these terms
You can end this agreement at any time by deleting the app. We may end it if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. The sections that by their nature should outlive it — ownership, no warranty, limits on liability — continue to apply afterwards.
If you installed from the Apple App Store
WordTogether is currently published for Android only. If it is ever distributed through the Apple App Store, the following applies to that version, as Apple requires:
- This agreement is between you and us, not Apple, and we alone are responsible for the app and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund any purchase price paid. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to conform to a legal requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar law.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for investigating and resolving any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights.
- You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not on any US Government restricted-parties list.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use the game after a change means you accept the updated terms. If a change is significant, we will try to make it visible in the app rather than only here.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines, and the courts of the Philippines have jurisdiction — except where consumer protection law in the country you live in gives you the right to bring proceedings locally, which it may.
